Ice
Rose Pub
128-30,
GungYuan (KungYuan) Rd., Tainan City

|
A
newcomer to the cluster of pubs near the intersection of GungYuan
and ChengGung roads in downtown Taiwan, the Ice Rose pub is a medium-sized
watering hole within easy reach of at least four major hotels. There
are several tables and tall white leather chairs in the front, a
bar--with funky yet comfortable mauve colored bar stools--in the
middle, and, at the back, two large tables encircled by a continuous
sofa that is perfect for large groups. The staff do not speak much
English, but are very friendly, and foreigners will find this an
enjoyable place to brush up on their Chinese skills. Ice Rose Pub
opens late and serves all the regular drinks. San Miguel is on tap,
and simple dishes such as dumplings are available from the kitchen.
