Adding more international flavours to Tainan's
famed local food scene is KEBAB. Turkish-Australian Bowby
Bahrami and his Taiwanese wife June met in Australia and returned
to Taiwan bringing Turkish fast food flavours with them. The
staple fast food of Turkey and late night food of choice for
many a European, the kebab, can be ordered as roasted chicken,
beef, pork or a combo. The meat is wrapped in thin bread with
lettuce, other veggies and covered with your choice of sauce
(choose from traditional yoghurt garlic, tahini or 7 others!).
Kebabs are served normal size for NT$59 or jumbo size for
NT$99-and add a drink for only NT$10. Those who don't eat
meat can enjoy a veggie kebab or grab a falafel for NT$69
or NT$119. Mingling with the Turkish flavours are baked potatoes,
cheese potato wedges, French fries and salads-all moderately
priced between NT$40 and NT$59. Wash your meal down with coffee,
Turkish milk tea, juice or a soft drink. Expect freshness
as most items in the store are made from scratch. |
