The Hang Out, which over the past two years has been one of Tainan's most popular watering holes, has changed owners, but not style. The friendly atmosphere, good Western food, and reasonable prices that made the Hang Out a success in the first place are still very much in evidence. "Everyone in Tainan or passing through is welcome to drop in for a drink, a meal, or a game of pool," say new owners Dennis and Gloria. They're offering dinner and drink specials every night, 25 different beers, a pool table (with a pool tournament every Wednesday night), a dart board and PS2. Dennis would like to launch a darts league--anyone who's interested in joining should turn up at the bar and tell the staff. During Happy Hour, from opening to 9 p.m., any cocktail can be had for NT$100. There are live sports from satellite TV: Sunday and Monday night NFL football, Premier League soccer from the UK, rugby, UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship), and boxing. The Hang Out stays open until three in the morning--at least: "If the party is rocking, we will close later," says Dennis. "We encourage customers to choose the music they like, and we have a lot of it," he adds.
