Kyozen is Tainan's newest, and possibly most
authentic, Japanese restaurant. Kyozen boasts many traditional
Japanese dishes including a few that are not available anywhere
else in Tainan, like a succulent Tempura Fried Shrimp Roll
(NT$150) and an enchanting traditional Japanese dessert of
Chilled Noodles with Black Sugar Sauce (NT$80). The chefs
also recommend the Dong Pao Pork (so succulent you can cut
it with a chopstick) and the BBQ Chicken Patty with Miso Sauce
(NT$120). Kyozen's two Japanese chefs, both hailing from Tokyo,
have been very busy. They're expanding the menu, which will
triple in size in June and are planning to completely revamp
the menu every two months to ensure customers an ever-evolving
dining experience. The dark hardwood and bamboo interior of
Kyozen generate a somber yet classy atmosphere perfect for
impressing business clients. Also perfect for making an impression
is Japan's premium saki, XO, (likened by the General Manager
to VSOP in France) which can be purchased for NT$1,000 per
bottle.
