Also near JueJiang in Sintian Road (directly across from the alley entrance to Gotham Garden), stands a restaurant named Hippo House. From the outside this Greek style building almost makes you feel like you are standing in the Balkan Peninsula of Southern Europe. White walls and vaulted windows create an international feeling, supported by their many dishes from all over the world. Dishes from France, Italy, Thailand, Japan and Korea are all on the list, ranging between NT$170 to NT$399. Try the Apple Sauteed Ribs (NT$249), which comes with soup, salad, fruits and green or black tea. If you want something lighter, try their fries, onion rings, wings or fried shrimp balls (all priced between NT$55 and NT$85). Hippo House also has many elaborate desserts and drinks, including cakes from NT$60, muffins from NT$90 (one of them is made with ice cream), coffee and juice (NT$95) and different kinds of Slushies, the latter being a true treat during the hot summer months. Hippo House also offers a huge selection of popular local magazines for their customers' reading pleasure.
