This local favorite has been pleasing foreigners
and residents alike for fourteen years running and for good
reason. An elegant, naturally-lit gold and brown decor compliment
an upscale western menu to make for an all-round enjoyable
dining experience. Pizzas are the specialty at 8818 with 11
varieties to choose from. To foreigners, the staff usually
recommend the Spicy Mexican Pizza (NT$290 for a 9 inch or
NT$470 for a 13 inch) and to locals they suggest the Hawaiian
(NT$290/NT$470). These are far from the most exotic pizzas
on the menu though. They also serve a Squid and Tomato Pizza
(NT$320/NT$520) and a Tuna Pizza (NT$320/NT$520), but this
writer enthusiastically endorses the Seafood Pizza (NT$340/NT$540)
which features a delectable array of seafood including: shrimp,
crab, squid, and clam. The menu also features several other
classy dishes ranging from Filet Mignon (NT$680) to Grilled
Lobster with Cheese (NT$660) to Lamb Chops (NT$480). Wine
is served NT$300 for a 375ml mini carafe, or NT$600 for 750ml.
8818 will revamp their menu this summer so all prices are
subject to change.
