Banon is a new restaurant located near the DungMen-ChangRung intersection that sells baked pasta and rice dishes. The dishes are all made from fresh ingredients, and the chef insists that nothing canned is used. Banon is a type of cheese, and the Baked Shrimp And Mushroom In Cream Sauce (NT$90) this writer sampled was exceptionally and deliciously cheesy. In terms of appearance, Banon is a simple affair, with three tables in a conservatively decorated interior and a single table outside on the sidewalk. There are three sauce choices: cream, tomato and original, with a choice of rice or pasta and juice or black tea. Prices range from NT$80 to NT$100. Appetizers, such as garlic bread and Italian Baked Egg, go for NT$30 to NT$80. Banon can deliver food; the menu is in English and Chinese.
