        A stone's throw from the JR Plaza Hotel, which provides its guests with discount coupons for this classy establishment, Miao Lounge Bar graces Tainan's fast-growing Wuchi district. In addition to the usual lounge and chillout music, this bar offers a livelier alternative: karaoke. Most of the sofas and couches face the bar, easing interaction with fellow guests and staff. According to manageress Miss Yang--younger sister of famous singer Yang Lin--the bar is popular with Taiwanese, Japanese and Westerners. Beers go for NT$150; whiskies and brandies start at NT$200, and can be bought by the bottle. Non-alcoholic drinks are also available. There is a minimum charge of NT$500 per person.
