Occupying
a small but sleek single-floor building, "Symbols" is
a place to eat, sample a wide range of teas and coffees, and - above
all else - relax. With just a few tables outdoors, and not many
more indoors, it should never feel too crowded. Pasta forms the
backbone of the menu with more than a dozen dishes, including Smoked
Salmon Fettuccine, Bacon & Asparagus Penne Rigate (both NT$120),
various spaghettis (NT$120 to NT$180) and lasagna (NT$180). The
weight conscious might prefer the salads (Garden, Ceasar, Waldorf
and Smoked Salmon - all NT$60). Otheres will be drawn to the Chicken
Quesadillas, Buffalo Wings, Nachos, French Fries, Onion Rings, and
Italian-style Fried Cuttlefish (all NT$80). As for drinking options
- with or without caffeine - it's enough to say that there are so
many choices everyone will find something to their liking. No drink
costs more than NT$100. By Steven Crook
