Bar Arts and Crafts

-- By Charles McHale Translated by Ann Li

Want to wow that hot person you've coaxed into drinking with you? Or do you simply spend to much time bored and drunk? Let FYI South teach you to be the hottest artiste within four bar stools in any direction. Regulations require FYI South to remind you to not drink and drink, but go ahead and make art.

Cocktail straw flowers
Difficult to drink from and involves using something sharp.

The Exquisite Corpse
This drawing game was invented by the Surrealists. Fold a piece of paper in three. One person draws the head and shoulders, extending the lines just past the fold. The next person draws the midsection without seeing the top, again extending lines past the fold. The last person draws the legs without seeing the what the first two drew. Psychoanalyze the results.

Cigarette sculpture
The most creative way to tell a friend to quit smoking. Toothpicks sharpen the point while adding structural value. The challenge is finishing while they're in the bathroom.

Cigarette foil flower
Take the foil from cigarette pack and fold and tear it into strips, darting the ends. A lot simpler than origami and a nice touch after downing someone's brandy.
Origami is for when your grandmother visits.
