Working in advertising in Shanghai and Beijing, Jerry Chen participated in many well-known marketing campaigns for local businesses. However, unable to let go of his earlier passion of collecting Chinese antique, he opened this store at the current location last August. The store has the added modern elements from Taiwanese designers and artists to embellish the exquisite cultural artifacts of our ancestors.
To Jerry, these old Chinese objects are not unreachable dreams but a representation of life. Preservation fervor has made the traditional embroidery pieces from one of the Chinese minority tribes, Miao tribe, the object of pride in the store. There are no outrageously priced objects in the store; even those who know nothing about antiques will be at ease here.
The vintage embroidery pieces can be seen in the modern furnishings through out the store. These pieces are precious to Jerry because they are such a rarity; whether they are in throw pillows or wall hangings, they are all sold as hand-made pieces. For ardent Eastern object fans, this place is worth a visit.
