Shih Lin Night Market

        With a history of over 40 years, this night market is a famous tourist attraction for locals and visitors. To update the market, a temporary relocation of market stalls is underway, to a new home across from the MRT Chien Tan station. This is only one road down from the old Shih Lin Night Market, across from Chi Ho Road. This clean and spacious area has a parking lot nearby with over 200 spaces. There are 538 booths inside the main tent area, separated into areas for concessions, fruit, general merchandise, vegetables, fresh meat, and sundries. The future Shih Lin Night Market will have three basement levels and three upper levels. The first basement level and floors one through three will house the traditional night market. Basement levels two and three will be for parking. Opening celebrations will be held in November, when all the stalls are ready. --By Selena Huang
