Nearby the National Normal University, there is a quiet place isolated from the noise of the outside world. This is Hsien Nu Shop which sells traditional Chinese furniture, curtains, tablecloths, clothes and other decorative items. The shop is run by two women whose philosophy includes making customers feel welcome in their store by treating them like good friends. Traditional-style clothes are all imported from China, and feature embroidered designs of Chinese folk tales. An antique cabinet features a 3-D totem design in red, black and gold. There are other interesting items to look at and the soft music playing in the background makes this a relaxing place to shop.--By Leon Chiang
