The city's second Fnac recently opened near the Taipei Train Station in an area filled with bookstores. This branch is a four-floor digital mall that combines culture and technology. Staff are on hand at all times to provide explanations of products. In addition, chairs are placed in the reading area and audio-visual rooms to allow people to thumb through books or listen to CDs before making a purchase. Also, customers may take any CD to the information counter to listen to it there before deciding whether to buy it. Fnac started business with photographic facilities in France and, therefore, includes photographic equipment sales and film developing among its basic services. It also has photo galleries in both France and Taiwan to exhibit photographic art. Fnac sells tickets to a variety of cultural events at its entrance. Moreover, there is a space on the third floor for holding various cultural activities. -By Cindy Lee
