Myxomycity:
The Prime of Taiwan Contemporary Architecture
Time: Until 9/22
Place: Museum of Modern Arts, Exhibition halls 101-103
and outside exhibition area
Tel: (02) 2552-3721 |
Myxomycity is a compelling architectural event exploring
the powerful relationship that links structures, materials
and mankind. That relationship can be fragile at times.
Yet even in destruction and death, construction and regrowth
reappear in testament to the powerful bond. Three of Taiwan's
leading architects contribute to Myxomycity. The works of
Yin-Chun Hsieh, fueled by rebuilding efforts following the
921 Earthquake, reveal the artist's concerns for those who
were left homeless. Wei-Li Laio offers an architectural
interpretation of Taiwan's natural resources. And, Shao-Chen
Cheng's work reminds us all to stay in touch with Mother
Nature.
