After going up a slim escalator, customers on the second floor of FiFi will find themselves in a stylish Chinese restaurant. If they continue up to the third, they'll be surprised by "W", an East/West fusion lounge bar. The warm, trendy atmospheres on both floors here have helped make FiFi a very popular hangout in Taipei.
At FiFi, most of the crowd is slightly older than your typical nightclub frequenters, but that doesn't mean they don't take the initiative to sample FiFi's exclusive cocktails. The bartenders are constantly cooking up new concoctions, just to keep things interesting. One such bartender, Vernon, recommends a drink called Holiday Dreaming (NT$350). Served in a low-ball glass, the drink is a dreamy blue hue and chock full of interesting ingredients.
Bartender: Vernon Lin
Ingredients:
* 1 1/2 oz Gin
* 1 1/2 oz Sour Apple Pucker Liqueur
* 1 1/2 oz Curacao Bleu
* 1 1/2 oz Lime Juice
* 1/4 oz Grenadine
* 2 packets of coffee cream (or milk)
*
Freshly-sliced pineapples and cherries
(for decoration)
Directions: First, pour Grenadine into a low-ball glass. Carefully add other ingredients and ice cubes. Decorate the rim of the glass with sliced pineapple and cherries.
Besides drinks, the second and third floors serve light meals after 10 p.m. On Mondays and Fridays, FiFi features live DJs, so patrons can dance the night away.
