A barely visible front door. Private
candlelit rooms. Mirrors and beaded curtains galore.
A long list of fine wines and spirits. Sounds like your
typical exclusive metropolitan hot spot. And, yet, 4plus4
seems more like a classy living room where you can stroll
in without any pretense. The cocktails (appropriately
titled "For Those Vogue") start at NT$250
and the wines at NT$960/bottle. 44th Paradise (NT$280),
their specialty drink, is a crisp blend of fruit liqueurs
mixed with freshly squeezed orange juice. What's more,
their menu adds a bit of panache to the average snacks.
The Sirloin Steak with Mustard Sauce (NT$420) is cooked
to a "T" and the delightfully crunchy Sauteed
Broccoli with Bacon (NT$220) has a lovely white wine
aroma. 4plus4 also adds a bit of artsy style with imprinted
metal menus, film reels stacked in the corners and everything
from funky house to alternative rock coming through
the speakers. This new lounge bar is a happy medium
of elegance and coziness.
