Located
on ChingShang South Road, at what used to
be Brown Sugar, Woodstock Pub has become a
popular hang-out place for twentysomethings.
The
floor layout of Woodstock is divided into two
sections: The sofa lounge section and the regular
wooden table section. The sofa lounge section,
which is right next to the bar, caters for
small groups who want a bit more privacy. These
sofa seats are divided with shimmering red
curtains and should be reserved a few days
in advance. Although the lounge section is
more private, people can still see the performing
stage and the DJ booth from each sofa.
The
regular wooden table section is right in front
of the stage. Reservations are not required,
but this part of Woodstock does get quite packed
on weekends, and even busier when bands perform.
On Friday and Saturday nights, the bar is open
till 5 am, and dance music is usually played.
Bands are often scheduled on weekends as well.
On week nights, DJ James and Charles will spin
music of all types till 3 am.
The
atmosphere at Woodstock is very Westernized
and laid back. The dark wooden furniture helps
create this relaxed atmospherel. Food is available
from 7pm to 2am every night; assorted hamburgers
and pasta dishes satisfy discerning patrons.
As
for drinks, the most popular cocktails are
Shandy (NT$150) and Magarita (NT$240). The
owner of Woodstock Pub is very experienced
in bar management, and runs many popular lounges,
bars and restaurants in Taipei. I'm sure you
won't be disappointed at this new addition
to his empire. |
