Listen to women singing

In the history of Taiwan's alternative music scene Witch House has always held an important position. A long established venue in comparison with The Left Bank, Huashan, and other places, it changed from a rock haunt to a jazz and folk venue a few years ago to avoid disturbing the neighbors. The name Witch was chosen because it's cool, and because it is hoped that patrons can be as in control of their lives and active as witches, and have an open mind in terms of music appreciation and life in general.

Female visitors to Witch might like to try "Period Ice Tea," made from natural fruit tea and rum. The bright red color is eye catching, and the drink is said to be beneficial to the health of women at that time of month.

The manageress, Ms Peng, is also the DJ. When there is a live performance she serves as PA. She hopes that Witch's patrons can hear music which they would not otherwise hear. She loves Eastern European, medieval and religious music.

On the second Monday of each month, Ah-Zhong performs Budai Puppet Opera. On the third Monday, there is "music wrestling." There is live music on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
