Coyote

Coyote
By Yahan Wu

It¡¦s Coyote Ugly, the movie, come alive. This is the closest you¡¦ll probably get to seeing hot chicks shakin¡¦ their thang on the wooden bar, short of going to the original in New York City.

Debuting with the completion of Living Mall (138, BaDer Rd., Sec. 4, 12F), Coyote Ugly gives customers what we all remember most from the movie--hot dancing. Half a dozen lovely dancers, who double as bartenders and waitresses, perform twice a night, once at 11:30 pm and again at 2 am. Stamping and swiveling to pop and country music, they dress for the part, complete with Stetsons and pointy-heeled cowboy boots.

Even better, this bar--which has a dance area on the first floor and lounge areas on the second--has live bands playing every day from 10:30 pm to 1:30 am.

Manager Judy Gwan says Coyote Ugly is different from other bars because they play a wide range of music to cater to their colorful customers. But Hip Hop, pop and house music are played on Fridays and Saturdays.

The entrance fee may sting a bit, but it's drinks-exchangeable. Mondays to Thursdays cost NT$350; Fridays NT$500; and Saturdays NT$600.

The bar looks impressive, too. The first thing that strikes you is the neon, color-changing ¡¥Coyote¡¦ lightbulb in the middle of the five-tiered bar, and the very many bottles of spirits. The dance floor is right in front of the bar, so audiences are able to watch these ladies dance up close and personal.

This is definitely a pit-stop to make if you¡¦re looking for a place to stomp and sway the night away, or just have a harmless ogle.
