A year ago, Yangming Spring vegetarian restaurant opened its first location on Yangmingshan. Due to popular demand, the restaurant established a second location in the heart of downtown Taipei. The new restaurant is a petite gallery, displaying calligraphy masterpieces, well-kept bonsai trees, and sculptures--all for sale. The owner aims to provide quality vegetarian cuisine in an artistic space. Even though Yangming Spring serves only vegetarian meals, every dish is full of flavor. The restaurant mainly serves set menus and reservations are required since daily food supplies are limited. For a course meal, expect to stay there at least 90 minutes. They also have a la carte selections for lunch and tea. The most popular set is the 11-course Truffle Set (NT$1,280), which includes Bamboo Shoots with White Sauce, Shiitake Mushrooms with Truffles, and Buddha's Casserole.
