After opening in Taipei last year, this restaurant has enjoyed a steady stream of customers. Unlike other popular chain restaurants, Anzu did not rush to open its other branches; instead, it has taken a year to establish a second location, which is located right next door. The reason for the "late" opening is the emphasis that the owners put on training their staff. Set meals here cost between NT$250 and NT$390; for an extra NT$60, entrees come with a beverage and dessert. --By Sharon Huang, translated by Ann Lee

A. If you are a fan of fried pork chops, then try the Fried Pork Chop with Soup and Rice (NT$330). This is one of the most-ordered dishes at Anzu. Made with Japanese flour dough, the chops have a crispy texture on the outside. Japanese-style rice, soaked in broth, comes with this particular meal set, giving it a lighter texture that blends perfectly with the oily pork.

B. The manager recommends the Pork Chop with Medicinal Ingredients (NT$290/set). The meat is first soaked in specially-made broth and then topped with a fresh onions, celery and egg yolk dressing.
