Gordon Biersch is a brewery/restaurant that has chains all over the U.S. Now, the chain has ventured across the Pacific and opened up their first restaurant in Asia. In the Taipei store, almost all of the facilities came from the U.S. A half-open kitchen allows guests to take a peek of the chefs at work. --By Josie Wu, translated by Ann Lee

A. "Beer like it ought to be!" is what GB has to say about their freshly-brewed beers. These quality handcrafted beers have won numerous awards. You can even try up to six German beers by ordering their Beer Sampler (NT$230). With meticulous quality control and processing, they are able to brew here in Taiwan. The owner of GB Dan Gordon (right) and the Taiwan & China branch General Manager Jeff Lee (left) vow that they will be the leaders of Micro-brewing in Taiwan and will help stimulate beer culture in the area.

B. GB offers a range of American, Mediterranean and Japanese fusion foods. Some of their popular dishes include the 10 oz Beef Burger (NT$370), the BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich with Maert-zen Sauce (NT$350), and the Burger with Crab and Artichoke Dip (NT$340).
