The name 'Pies 'n More' is certainly apt at Frankie's. Ten different delicious homemade pies (NT$80-95) effortlessly blend South African favourites with local and international cuisine; pie offerings here include Steak & Mushroom, Three Cups Chicken, and a traditional dish made with chicken, pork and spices from the Philippines called Adobo Pie. There's even an intriguing sounding Hamburger Pie. There's also a choice of fresh quiches on offer each day, including Vegetable and Bacon & Asparagus (NT$60), as well as three delectable Hamburgers (NT$80) with generous handmade patties, and salads. Frankie's offers mini versions of their pies and quiches (NT$35-50), in case you can't decide which one to try next. With the rate that Frankie keeps innovating, this is a likely scenario. Frankie's boasts three al fresco tables on the covered sidewalk, where you can often find friendly South African Frankie on a break from his busy kitchen. Frankie's, which also caters for parties and can deliver island-wide, is well worth the trip to Yong Ho. --By Cat Thomas, translated by Ann Lee
