T.K.K. Fried Chicken, a 33-year-old Taiwanese fast-food chain, decided to revamp itself by creating Jo's House restaurant, a brand that aims to serve affordable Western-style dishes. Jo's House Loco Meal (NT$190), modeled after "Pollo Loco", or "crazy chicken" in Spanish, is one of the new restaurant's popular dishes. It is half a chicken that has been marinated in seasonal fruits and vegetables for several hours and is served with two tortillas and a cup of salsa. Another gem is the generously portioned German Pig's Knuckle Meal (NT$190). All of the lunch combos include Jo's garden salad and a choice of clam chowder or a soft drink--you really can't get a better value. By the way, next time you crave a juicy hamburger after 10 p.m., stop by Jo's House--even though its late, they're still serving up concoctions like the Swiss Mushroom Cheese Burger (NT$150). --Written and translated by Diva
