Located right on Taipei's famous Ren-Ai Rd, Mary's bistro cafe is surrounded by magnificent maple and palm trees, which gives a tranquil atmosphere in the heart of the busy city. Jack who runs the bistro cafe is determined to bring the modern Australian cuisine back to Taiwan to share with the local, hoping it will catch on to the casual fine dinning experience offered in many bistros and cafes in Australia.
Combining Italian, Asian and traditional western flavors and using high-quality ingredients, this season's focus has been placed on their steaks, wild seafood and pasta dishes.
The new season's menu, including spaghetti vongole and scallops ($560set); using fresh clams (pepes) and imported wild scallops, the aroma of the basil, white wine and hint of cream is very over-whelming. The pan-fried deep sea perch fillet is cooked so that one side of the fillet is crispy brown while the other is soft and juicy. The fillet is then combined with either tomato based spicy napoli pasta ($600set) or chilli pesto fettuccini ($630 set). These combinations are designed to entice those eager taste buds. Also, during the cold winter months, it is a must to try the new Mediterranean Lamb Shanks ($650set), with the lamb slowly braised in rich tomato and Greek herbs and spices, a warm hearty meal to warm up the body. So whether you're a regular patron of Mary's or someone who's looking to tantalize their taste buds, head on down to Mary's where there's always something special.
