Tangy Australian-inspired foods served in a vibrant, relaxing atmosphere are yours to be had at the newest Outback Steakhouse location in XinYi business district. This sizable location has a high ceiling and plenty of open space, as if to reflect the feel of the Australian plains. There's no shortage of booths and tables in the restaurant, which is also equipped with a very large bar. Outback takes pride in its ability to offer steaks at a reasonable price. The franchise has 1,156 restaurants worldwide; their ready access to meat allows them to stay competitive and pass on their bulk sale value to customers. Outback ages its beef in a controlled temperature environment, which naturally tenderizes the meat and makes for an all-around better flavor. All sauces, soups, salad dressings and grilling spices are prepared daily by the restaurant's head chef. The substantial appetizer menu includes the Bloomin' Onion (NT$280), a "blossom" of deep-fried onion with a horseradish and mayonnaise sauce center. --By David Schnell, translated by Ann Lee

A. The Bloomin' Onion, an Outback specialty, is a must-try. They also recommend the T-Bone Steak (NT$1,380).

B. Dadido uses quality soybeans, filled with protein, to create their low-calorie hot pot soup. The ingredients in these pots are exquisitely prepared and come in interesting "flavors" like the Energetic Youth Pot, the Magical Figure Pot, and the Happy Delight Pot.
