Twenty-something Evan is making his dreams come true with a comfortable American-style burger joint. Located near the ShiDa district, Evans serves all-day brunch meals. Being a fan of burger himself, he knows burger patties must be made from scratch and by hand, and with a standard ratio between the meat and its fat for the burger to taste anything close to decent. Evan's has already attracted a lot of expat customers. Wednesdays are "Evans Burger Day", and for a limited time only (from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.), a Cheese Burger with Fries is only NT$100! --By Joan Chang, translated by Ann Lee

A. So big it barely fits in your hands is the Super Jumbo Burger (NT$350); made with oven-baked buns and three layers of beef patty and cheese, four strips of bacon and sauteed mushrooms. This order comes with a generous portion of fries.

B. Apart from burgers, other choices include the tangy Chili Omelette (NT$250); the secret is the beef chili sauteed with spices, which is also Evan's favourite dish. Fijitas (NT$250) are available with three different stuffings--Chili Beef, Chicken and Shrimp. Patrons can enjoy bottomless cups of Coke Zero, Ice Tea, or Soda. Dr.Pepper and Root Beer (NT$50) are also available.
