The big mix of cultures in Australia
has added to a diverse dining scene that includes
influences from Asia, Italy and Mexico. This continental
blending has created something called "Modern
Australian Cuisine" . Jack, who lived in
Australia for 17 years, is the owner of Mary's
Bistro Cafe and has put Modern Australian Cuisine
into practice. All of the wall and floor tiles
in the restaurant are imported right from Australia,
as are many of the ingredients. Authentic dishes
at Mary's are mostly made up of beef, lamb and
fish, as Western-style food and meats are part
of many Australian diets. They also offer 8-ounce
Rib-Eye Steaks and 15-ounce T-Bone Steaks. But
get yourself prepared?he portions are Australian-sized!

A. Picked from grain-fed beef, the Prime Rib Eye
Steak (NT$820) tastes best cooked rare. Fish &
Chips (NT$650) has beer-battered, deep-fried wild
Sea Perch, which is crispy on the outside and
tender on the inside and comes with french fries
(chips).
B. The decor inside Mary's is a passionate, Ferrari
red. There is also an alfresco-style, outdoor
dining area. Jack imports high-cost Di Bella coffee
beans that have a creamy flavor and pleasing aroma. |
