GENEVA
FINE SWISS CUISINE
9, Alley 5, Lane 345, RenAi Rd,
Sec 4

Veteran restaurateur Michel Blanc
(Tavern-Premier, Capone's, O'Ginny's) gave Taipei
a Christmas present in December. Geneva brings,
not a taste, but full meals from Mr. Blanc's homeland
of Switzerland. Swiss cuisine mingles the best
of Italy, Germany and "that other nation
to the west". Geneva's speciality, as in
Switzerland, is fondue. The appetizer, soup and
wine lists feature hard-to-find specialities including
morels, escargot, raclette and Swiss Mont sur
Rolle white wine. After dessert, try a Swiss fruit
brandy for an exquisite finish to your meal. Despite
the fruit, it's for those with an appreciation
something stronger. The decor is European, warm,
woody and cozy--yet far from cramped. While businessmen
or families will find Geneva comfortable, the
romance of fondue is best shared by lovers. Geneva
will also be open for lunch from March with several
new dishes on the menu. Taiwan Fun is required
to remind you not to drink and drive. --By Charles
McHale, translated by Ann Lee
