Located on the sixth floor of the Future Center off of ZhongXiao West Road, Section 1, Shin Yeh Japanese Buffet is a world away from the greasy lunch boxes that reign on the streets below. What draws repeat visitors to this and other branches of of Shin Yeh is the glorious food. The freshness, abundance and tastiness of the dishes make every NT dollar of the NT$650 you lay out for the lunch buffet well worth it.

Shin Yeh boasts an abundance of Japanese food and the sushi and sashimi sections are my first stop. Standing on a raised platform surrounded by row after row of delectable delights, the chefs are hard at work creating made-to-order California rolls, sashimi and sushi. In front, a chilled case is filled with tuna, salmon, and mackerel waiting to be sliced to my liking. Coupled with a dollop of wasabi, soy sauce and thin slivers of radish, gorging myself on this alone is always definite possibility.

The center buffet tables are laden with fresh fruit, sushi and sashimi, ice-cold noodles with toppings, Canadian oysters on the half shell, mountains of shrimp, salads, and six different soups. Hot dishes, such as T-bone steak tips, fried spicy crabs and deep-fried tempura, are prepared throughout the course of the dining hours. With 16 to 18 cooks on board, there is a team effort at Shin Yeh that ensures quality, freshness and attention to detail.

Finally, with all-you-can drink beer, cappuccinos available at a press of a button, and wine and other beverages galore, delicious food isn't the only attraction here, either. Whether you're lunching alone or out with friends, Shin Yeh Japanese Buffet will raise mealtime experiences to a new delightful new high.
