Persian Gulf

Persian Gulf is a welcome addition to the recent Middle Eastern restaurant boom in Taipei, offering authentic Iranian Halal cuisine as well as some gourmet Western dishes. Their set menus (lunch: NT$199-430, dinner: NT$380-680) include fresh homemade flat bread, chopped Shirazee Salad, and Iranian-style black tea. The Taskabab Beef (set NT$480), ground meat wrapped around vegetables and duck egg served with plum sauce, may look strange but the flavors mix nicely. For those less adventurous, go for the traditional barbecue (set NT$430-480), meat grilled to tender perfection with subtle spices. The NT$199 business lunches are a great deal and, if you like, you can also order a la carte. The restaurant's decor definitely adds a touch of Euro-style class, with arched ceilings and windows. In this relaxed family setting, you can linger at the end of the meal and perhaps chat with the owner about his Judo Championship or joke around with the two playful sons while you savor a refreshing mint yogurt

Every Fri. Sat. Sun 7:30PM, Middle Eastern belly dance, appearing on stage.
