Selling ice cream is like selling joy. Taiwan's agent for Movenpick ice cream, Barox, licks off the fun in the morning. Particularly for the benefit of those working around the MRT's NanJing East Road station, this cafe opens at 7 a.m. The luxurious breakfast comes in many variations, including the Freshly Made Sandwich (NT$85), in addition to healthy snacks. A. Movenpick Breakfast Combo (NT$200) includes sunny-side-up eggs, ham, bacon, German sausage, Rosti/Pommes, toast, Hero jam and a side dish of juice, seasonal fruit, salad, coffee or black tea. Foreign friends will no doubt appreciate the large portions. For ladies with a small appetite, the Geneva Club (NT$160) is a good option.
B. Movenpick Manager Jennifer especially recommends American Smoked Beef (NT$160), which is crispy and satisfying. The afternoon tea time (2:30-4 p.m., NT$180) offers natural fruit tea with no artificial flavoring.
