Come to The One for its atmosphere--it's relaxing, comfortable and quiet. You can use your laptop, read a magazine or just lounge on the plush couches. This small cafe is tucked away on the fifth floor of the huge new Alexander Group fitness club, so it's a bit out-of-the-way for people who aren't members of the club. If you want fine dining, you can visit The One's main restaurant, located on ZhongShan North Road. But for simple lunches and healthy dinners, this new cafe is suitable. The menu is small, but offers a variety of sandwiches, salads, and hot dishes. The One Sandwich resembles a club sandwich (NT$180) and the Seafood Salad is a mix of shrimp, squid and one lonely scallop on a bed of lettuce (NT$180). The freshly-squeezed fruit juices are good but, at NT$150, a little pricey. Although the food isn't exceptional, the custom-designed furniture, tableware, accessories, paintings, and dishes are. Some of the items are for sale.
