DIANA
HOUSE
3, Lane 186, ZhongShan

Diana House, located in a posh
Tienmu residential neighborhood, is very exclusive
and very private. There's no restaurant sign and
those arriving without reservations will be turned
away. The modest exterior doesn't provide any
hints about the traditional British Victorian-style
interior. No menu is available, as Chef Peter
Liang designs dishes according to the tastes of
his guests. Delicious Chinese cuisine is offered,
but with Western-style presentation. Single-person
sets start at NT$1,800 and include six dishes,
from appetizer to main courses with a choice of
beef, lamb, chicken or fish. Additional charges
may also be applied according to ingredients.
Regulars rave about the Diana Veal, steamed, barbecued
and served with a special sauce, among other dishes.
A.
Hai Huang Salad, Diana Veal, and Steamed Shark's
Fin. The simple-looking salad actually has goodies
hidden inside. The Shark's Fin Soup is the end
result of cooking Jin Hua Ham, pork bones, seafood
and other ingredients for eight hours.
B. Five
red, romantic rooms are available on the second
floor and accommodate six to 12 people.
