The longest-surviving bubble tea shop
in XiMenDing has to be Tricycle Restaurant Chain Store.
In recent years, with the rapid changes in dining culture,
consumer preferences for finer styles and other influences,
the store's management has revised their marketing strategies.
Five years ago, owner Mr. Lai Rong Song decided to upgrade
the Tricycle bubble teashop into a restaurant chain
store by hiring professionals to give the store a complete
image makeover. The new design incorporates an East-meets-West
stylishness, providing customers with fine dining and
attentive service. Take the newly re-opened KunMing
branch as an example: The second floor is a Chinese-style
teahouse, whereas the third floor has a more relaxed
style with sofa seating. The most popular dishes include
the Spicy Chicken Leg, Italian-style baked dishes, and
Beef Brisket Stew Pot. The Spicy Chicken Leg (NT$160)
is prepared from deboned chicken legs marinated in a
special sauce, deep-fried, then dribbled with a sweet
and sour sauce for extra deliciousness. Whatever generation
you come from, the Tricycle Restaurant Chain Store will
always be a favorite hang-out in the XiMenDing area.
