This is the only restaurant at K-Mall, the computer products center opposite the Taipei Railway Station, and is Taiwan's first restaurant specializing in tempura dishes. Their 100% fresh ingredients, delicately prepared dishes, elegant surroundings and reasonable prices have already earned them rave reviews on the Internet. Having lived in Japan for 19 years, Mr. ShiDian Chen has always regretted that there aren't any authentic specialist tempura restaurants in Taiwan -- so he invited Mr. Sasaki, who has over 30 years of experience, to take charge as head chef. He has inherited the century old skills of Tokyo's famous restaurant "Kane". Head chef Sasaki not only selects the freshest ingredients (mostly imported from Japan), he also insists upon using the strictest methods of preparation in order. Various tempura dishes range between NT$320 and NT$420. Shrimp Tempura is made from live shrimps dipped in batter -- then fried directly. The taste is crispy on the outside and inside but not greasy at all. Since the dishes are made from live shrimps, you might try the fresh and sweet shrimp sashimi here. Ebiten also provides 5-year-old red yeast vinegar drinks for an even healthier meal.
