Daisho Izagaya, situated on a lane in
the bar area near the Sol Hotel, is a great place to
share a few warm sakes and authentic Japanese food with
friends. The chefs here have over ten years of culinary
experience in Japan, so the food is authentic -- so
much so that most of the customers are Japanese. Dining
in this small restaurant surrounded by Japanese people
makes you feel as if you have been transported abroad.
They serve sashimi, seafood, tsukemono (Pickled Vegetables),
salad, tempura, as well as barbequed dishes, sushi,
hand rolls, soup and alcoholic beverages -- all priced
between NT$80 and NT$320. Whenever you go to a Japanese
restaurant, sashimi is a must-have, and the sashimi
here is definitely unforgettable. It doesn't matter
which type of fish you pick, they are all very fresh,
and when combined with the sauces, all have that wonderful
melt-in-your-mouth sensation. You will also find other
popular dishes such as salad, clam and garlic soup,
oyster pancakes among others. Finally, enjoy a bottle
of smooth sake for the final touch. Although smoking
is allowed at Daisho Izagaya, the owner has installed
a very good ventilation system for the benefit of non-smokers.
