Mykonos, Taipei's favourite Greek restaurant, has moved
to a very pleasant new location on SiWei Road, just
a few steps from Louis XIV and about a two-minute scooter
ride from Truva. Could this be a sign that this part
of the city is becoming a Mediterranean neighbourhood,
just as other world cities have Chinatowns? Hope springs
eternal! The fresh blue and white decor and Greek music
are cheery and welcoming, and with the cooler weather
the tables on the patio are bound to be in demand. The
menu has been redesigned and photographed in full colour.
I ordered a combination Meze Platter (NT$400) and my
companion had Spanakopita (NT$280). We finished off
with Baklava (NT$100) and a very good cup of coffee
(NT$110). The Business Lunch (NT$180-NT$250), served
from 12 to 2:30 p.m., includes soup and coffee or tea.
Tea time (2:30-5 p.m.) features coffee or tea and dessert
for NT$150.
