Salsa Latina has moved from its original FuXing North Road location to its newly renovated home next to the little park on YanJi Street. Owner Luisa, a Chinese expatriate from the Philippines, is skilled in Spanish cuisine. The restaurant has two menus. From the a la carte menu Luisa recommends the Gambas (NT$200), which is shrimp sauteed with garlic in olive oil, a famous Spanish appetizer that goes well with bread and rice. Other recommendations include Spanish Chorizo with garlic and onion (NT$150), made from their own special-recipe chorizo; and American Pepperoni Pizza (NT$250), which also uses their own sausage and is baked in the oven along with other ingredients. The other menu lists dishes for the popular NT$499 all-you-can-eat offer. In addition to Sizzling Liver with garlic and onion, and Sauteed Mushrooms, the menu also has the famous Spanish Paella. The restaurant insists on making the dishes fresh by order for the best taste, so customers need to be patient or call and order beforehand. The most popular dishes here are the Seafood Paella and the Arroz Negro Paella. Barcelona wants happy customers so it gives a 15-percent discount on Mondays; a free imported draft beer on Tuesdays, free dining for one person out of any party of six on Wednesdays, a free dessert on Thursdays, and free dining for children under 10 on Sundays.
