With over 20 years of oven baking experience and the famous techniques of Chef Xiao Li, Pizza Pub has plenty of secrets behind their success. Walk into The Sheraton Hotel and find Pizza Pub down a flight of stairs. With famous British Brinton carpet at your feet, the red-brick colors, wooden decor and tinted chandelier all emit the warmth of southern Italian villages. Recent renovations have added drapes made of iron beads, adding an element of modernism amidst the traditional interior decor.
Pizza Pub is headed by Chef Li Zheng-Li, known to everyone as "Xiao Li". Like a parent to his team, he leads with a humorous personal style and fosters a team effort and family-style atmosphere that is rarely seen in five-star hotels. This can be said to be one of the restaurant's chief characteristics. The 20-plus-year-old oven seems to have a magic of its own, making the chef's handmade dough crispy but still full of texture, as well as full of a special fragrance from the acacia wood used in the baking. Many customers have become loyal fans because of the pizzas here. Chef Xiao Li recommends their Duck and Garlic Bacon Pizza (8 inches for NT$380, 12 inches for NT$580), a perfect combination of tasty meat, fresh vegetables and crispy dough.
However, the pizzas are not the only good things found here. The open kitchen is always wafting with the fragrance of freshly baked bread. Onion bread, country bread and other varieties are made right before your eyes. Caesar Salad (NT$320), Sicilian King Lobster Soup (NT$280), and the Spice Baked Lamb Cutlets (NT$750) are all very popular. During lunch time (12 noon-2 p.m.), the Homie Lunch is extremely popular, too. Originally priced at NT$2,400 for two persons, it is now available at only NT$1,200. You can choose from Pan Fried Fresh Fish of the day (NT$750) and Spicy Pan Roasted Chicken with Rosemary Mashed Potatoes, Baby Vegetables and Basque Sauce (NT$750), plus over 10 kinds of pasta dishes and six kinds of pizzas to choose from.
This is definitely a great place for friends and family to gather for a memorable meal together. Live-band entertainment is also available during evening hours.
