Have dinner at the Howard Hotel's Skyline Restaurant and Lounge Bar and you get the loftiest view of Taipei City for free. Skyline is situated opposite the Taipei Railway Station, on the 45th floor of the Shin Kong Life Tower. Its uninterrupted view can be seen through huge glass windows overlooking the hustle and bustle of the city's traffic. Sometimes, you can even see as far as the ocean. The view here is especially good in the evenings, when the city turns into a glittering jewelry box of neon lights. With such magnificent views, it is no wonder that this place has always been a popular choice for lovers to come for dates and even marriage proposals. Fine cuisine: The newly-renovated Skyline has a modern visual style that encompasses the colors white, silver and gold. Its cuisine is a Japanese/French fusion, with a choice of set menus priced between NT$500 and NT$1,600. After dining hours, Skyline morphs into a lounge bar with live piano music and a laid-back atmosphere. You can order exotic dishes such as the American-style New Orleans Spicy Chicken Wings, the Japanese-style Roasted Eel with Rice, or the Hong Kong-style Steamed Tang Bao. One can definitely say that the Skyline gets better as the night progresses.
