Around Taipei's ChenZhong Market are mostly small eateries offering lunch boxes, whereas "Sauce" stands out as a theme restaurant. The interior decoration is Mediterranean blue and white, giving it a classy comfortable atmosphere that allows for a relaxed dining experience. They mainly serve Italian pasta, using imported Italian raw pastas, chewy and full of authentic Italian flavors. Catering today's health conscious diners, low calorie sauces are used. The most popular is the Mediterranean Cuttlefish Spaghetti (NT$210). Imported cuttlefish sauce is stir fried with raw pasta, giving it a fresher and better flavor than the black cuttlefish pasta. The Garlic Mixed with Red Pepper Spaghetti (NT$170) is the chef's best, flavorsome but not too spicy so you can eat both the garlic and the peppers. "Sauce" offers various set menus, from NT$190 to NT$450. Also available are healthy herbal flower teas and other drinks. --By Shanzi Chen, translated by Cara Steenstra
