Combining
modern Japanese cuisine and high fashion, DaiKan Yama
is introducing 101 culinary creations and eighty-eight
new drinks. By combining fresh, local produce, worldly
culinary skills, health awareness and an emphasis on
selectivity of materials, DaiKan Yama brings to you the
most exquisite of dishes. Each dish is able to satisfy
all your senses. Of the 101 dishes, a handful are veteran
regulars, produced daily due to their high demand. A
few of these dishes are the eggplant and fish tart, a
Kagoshima specialty of pork, house-special meatballs
and sumo-sized hot pot. The dishes range anywhere from
NT$120 to NT$520. The interior design of the restaurant
combines both the traditional and the modern. Upon selecting
wood paneling, wallpaper, window frames and bamboo framing,
it is taken into consideration the balance between traditional
and modern. Not only is all material taken into serious
thought, but it is all imported in from Japan. In addition,
DaiKan Yama has VIP rooms for those who wish for privacy.
These rooms seat two to six people. --By Josie Wu, translated
