Yi Cafe Buffet, located on the sixth floor of the Far Eastern Department Store, has just undergone an NT$80-million renovation. Its expansive dining area succeeds due to its brightness and sprightly atmosphere. The VIP area can accommodate 14 people, and is decorated in a warm woody color, emphasizing its smooth feeling. The dark and light colors interlace in a way that reflects current fashion trends. Yi Cafe offers more than 100 dishes; you can see all of them in a three-story, completely transparent kitchen. Dishes categorized into ten major themes are placed on a several-meters-long dining table. The dishes include charming Eastern Indian food, Chinese food and snacks, Chinese classical noodles, broiled and barbecued dishes, Southeast Asian food, Western food, pizza and spaghetti, salad, sushi and sashimi, cakes and desserts. While you are enjoying the delicious dishes, the chefs will come out one after the other with their special dishes in hand for guests to sample. --By Josie Wu, translated by Clint Munkholm
