Motomachi Kurri

13, NanJing W. Rd., 2F
Hours: 11 am-9:30 pm
(02) 2531-2021

The Japanese are crazy about curry and have developed their own styles--a mild and sweet variation that blends into Japanese dishes to create dishes like Curry Deep-Fried Pork Chop, Curry Fried Corn Cake, and Curry Udon. Motomachi Kurri, a name from Yokohama's European-style curry restaurants, introduces Japanese curries to Taipei. The recommended dish is the Omelet Beef Curry. Easy as it seems, this dish really puts the chef's skills to the test. Instead of steamed rice, golden fried rice fills the omelet. Among fundamental skills for every chef is wrapping rice with a thin layer of egg. While it is still hot, fill your mouth with three different flavors found in this delicious dish. Prices are about NT$180 and up per person. Reservations are recommended during holidays. -- By Elisabeth Cheng, Translated by Sheng Chen
