Cha
Pei Pei is reviving old traditions. A novel 1950s-style
teahouse divided into two styles--one being Shanghai,
the other Taiwan--the establishment features displays
of perfumes, dolls, soda bottles, cigarettes and candies
from that era, together with old black-and-white photos.
These exhibits are sure to evoke memories. Managed by
actress A-Ya and her sister, who engaged professionals
to decorate the interior, the food served here has been
created under the direction of chefs from five-star hotels.
The Shan-Tong dumplings are homemade; the highly recommended
fruit tea is fairly priced and full of fruit flesh. On
the main menu, the most popular dishes are Chicken Leg
Rice, and Thai-Style Sweet And Sour Chicken Rice (NT$148);
the latter uses chicken leg instead of chicken breast.
A new addition to the menu is Mushroom Angel Noodles,
one of A-Ya's favorites. --By Josie Wu, translated by
