The famed, two-decade old Shih Yeh Restaurant has opened its ZhongXiao restaurant, serving exquisite Taiwanese dishes. Lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner hours all present a different feel, especially with the Taiwanese style light meal to expand afternoon tea selection beyond traditional cakes and coffee. Shih Yeh ZhongXiao restaurant takes a high-quality, fair-price approach. Fluffy Steamed Sandwich Bun (NT$70) is layered with smooth meat slices, cilantro, and ground peanuts for a very traditional taste. The classic Taiwanese dish, homemade Cuttlefish Broth (NT$290), is made with cuttlefish covered in a thick layer of hand-ground squid paste for a refreshingly leathery taste.
The restaurant is designed with an elevated dining area to the left, sandwiched seating in the center, and with drapes and white column lanterns to partition the VIP area in the rear for a private space that is suitable for family and business gatherings. --By Josie Wu
