On the busy intersection of Zhongcheng Rd and Zhongshan N Rd Sec 6 I found a paradise. I thought for a second that I had wandered into a TV coffee advert set in an outdoor cafe. But no, this is Specchio Western Food Square. The restaurant originally offered Italian style dishes, but in response to the "healthy, natural and exquisite" trend in restaurant food, the head chef began to use simple ingredients and cooking methods that retained the original flavor of the ingredients, to create a series of new different-to-the traditional Mediterranean style dishes. Besides the traditional tasty dishes including charcoal baked pizza (about NT200) and fried spaghetti (about 220), there are also some mouthwatering innovative dishes, like stewed tuna and lemon vinegar (180,) crab and butter puff, Hungarian goulash, Italian beef slices (150) and garlic French spring chicken (480.) You can order individual dishes according to your appetite or enjoy one of the recommended set meals (lunch 380-480, dinner 650.) --By Josie Wu
