This restaurant and pub is staffed by Aborigines and divided into two sections. The first contains stone slab tables, a bar, stage and karaoke equipment. The wall murals were painted by well-known aboriginal artists and relate several aboriginal legends. The second contains dining tables with a picture window looking out onto the lane outside. This restaurant's specialties include grilled wild boar, betel nut flower salad, flying fish (seasonal), sticky rice cooked in bamboo (NT$100), green papaya chicken soup (NT$450) and various kinds of wild vegetables (NT$150). The grilled wild boar was excellent. Ah Wan, our server, recommended trying it plain first then with onion and/or dipped in a special sauce. The betel nut flower salad was also surprisingly good. It looks somewhat like cabbage, but tastes more like bamboo shoots. According to Ah Wan, the busiest times are Friday and Saturday nights after 9 p.m., when there are performances by aboriginal artists. To get to Piao Liu Mu, turn onto Lane 316 from Roosevelt Road, just opposite National Taiwan University.
